Abstract
In this study, the crop height measurement using stereo camera was studied for the purpose of varying the height of the tractor's ground clearance according to the crop height. The height of the crop was calculated by measuring the distance from the edge of the stereo image using disparity map and converting it to a coordinate system. The cameras were installed at five different height levels (420, 440, 460, 480, 500 mm) on the front of the tractor, each measuring five different crops at a distance of 2 meters. The result showed that the error was less than 5% in most cases. Especially cabbage showed 1.7% error which was the best performance among the 5 crops. Considering the overall results, crop height measurement in real-time was possible. In order to be applicable to tractors that can automatically adjust the ground clearance in the future, it is necessary to optimize stereo image noise reduction and area recognition algorithms through data collected in various environments.
