The purpose of this study is to analyze strength of compound planetary gear for agricultural tractor. The compound planetary gear is a important component of hydro-mechanical transmission. Therefore, a simulation model of compound planetary gear was developed and analyzed using simulation software analyzing gear-train. The simulation analysis for safety factor of compound planetary gear was calculated using ISO 6336. The simulation time was set to 2,736 hours considering tractor annual using time and average lifetime. The simulation was conducted in rated torque condition and maximum torque condition of engine. As a result of simulation, the bending safety factor and the contact safety factor of compound planetary gear were more than 1 in rated torque condition and maximum torque condition. Therefore, the compound planetary gear is considered to ensure the safety of strength.
